It was our 3rd stay at BoatBNB, each time we chose a different yacht because we like checking out new arrivals. All 3 were gorgeous and spacious, the view is always spectacular. Shaun is always professional and courteous, and is knowledgeable about each vessel in the collection, we look forward to coming back every year and recommend these yachts highly for a weekend of luxury and relaxation!
Paul G. Stevenson Ranch, CA Minnow August 2024
What a great alternative to staying in a hotel or Airbnb - very reasonably priced, great location, very relaxing, state rooms had more room than I expected. Would definitely recommend.
R Jones Murrietta, CA Ohana August 2024
The people in the office are top notch. Absolutely no problems and we would do it again in a heart beat. Next time it will be the Minnow and Dances with Waves.
Kristle P. Toluca Lake, CA Minnow May 2024
I had a wonderful experience staying on the Minnow! The boat was pristine and well appointed. The harbor is secure, and my sister and I felt very safe during our stay.
Shaun is a consummate professional. She was happy to answer my many questions and provide recommendations on what to do in the area. There are a ton of Shelter Island restaurants and bars within walking distance of the harbor.
This was hands down a fantastic, restorative experience. Nothing says vacation like waking up on the water with beautiful views of the ocean surrounding you. I will definitely be back to stay with BoatBnB again!
Kathleen T. Henderson, NV Minnow March 2024
Fabulous! I didn't want to leave! I got to stay on the Minnow and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. My favorite spot on the boat was at the back where there was a cushioned seat with pillows and a rocking chair, perfect for reading, with a view of the harbor activities. Shaun answered all my questions about the Minnow and her team made sure that the kitchen was stocked with fresh fruit and all I needed for my morning coffee. The bed and inside living area are comfortable. There is free parking, and once settled in, I was able to walk to close-by restaurants. I especially enjoyed the morning and evening bugle calls and being on the water for 4 nights was absolutely wonderful. It felt like a real get-away vacation and I look forward to staying here again!
John B. Garland, TX Ohana March 2024
This was the 2nd time we stayed on the Ohana and just loved it. The vibe and atmosphere in the Marina as usual was great, and the yacht was super clean all the way through.
Can't wait to go back as it's about 5 times now that we've stayed in the Shelter Marina.
Mike B. Scottsdale, AZ General Bayacht March 2024
The experience while staying on General Bayacht was fantastic. The location was great and the accommodations were great for our family of 4. I would recommend this boat to anyone looking to relax on the water. We did charter this boat as well and Capt'n Brooks was great taking us around. All around it was a great experience.
Gary & Karen M. North Aurora, IL Ohana Nov 2023
Loved our stay on Dances With Waves. From our first steps on this yacht, we found that it was very clean and equipped with everything needed to call it "our home" for the time we stayed there. Also the marina itself had wonderful amenities for us to use. Shaun welcomed us and was very helpful with anything we needed also.
Norman B. Tempe, AZ Minnow Nov 2023
Shaun did an amazing job and all the staff at the Marina were great!

Troy M. Thousand Palms, CA Minnow August 2023
This was our second stay on same boat. Love love love it. Great location. Walk to restaurants, beach and bars! Shaun is an awesome host. Grilling area is great and great place to meet other boaters.
Ann L. Bryan, TX Why Knot July 2023
What a great experience! It was one of those things that should be on your bucket list. A little taste of how it would be to live full time on a boat. Now I am looking for yachts for our next vacation. A hotel would be too boring. San Diego weather was perfect for drinking coffee on the deck in the morning. We Cooked on the marina grill where there was a big fire pit and table, we ate at the restaurant that was next to the marina with a beautiful view of the water. All the tourist attractions we wanted to see were just a short Uber away.
To top it off my daughters boyfriend proposed to her on the deck of the boat during the amazing fireworks show on the 4th. What a magical experience! Thanks Shaun and BoatBNB!
Nancy E. Phoenix, AZ Minnow May 2023
Our vacation on the Minnow was a great adventure. We have never stayed on a boat and were amazed at the luxurious and comfortable accommodations. The Minnow was supplied with everything needed for a great stay. Shaun was super efficient and complete with all the information and with answering any questions we had. Thanks so much for an exceptional stay!

We love BoatBnB! We've stayed on several boats and enjoyed everyone of them. The boats are well kept and clean and the marina is in a great location. Shaun and the whole team are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend!
John B. Garland, TX Why Knot July 2022
The stay we had on the Why Knot was awesome and I would recommend it to anyone. Super clean and walking distance to restaurants.
We had no complaints at all, plus Shaun and her team were great who helped us get settled in.
We are going back again !!
Deb N. Del Mar, CA Why Knot September 2021
AyeAye Capt'n: BoatBnB was such a great "short but sweet" stay, only complaint wasn't a long enough stay! Shaun was the hostess with the mostess, showed us around, great insights, well kept, clean. A staycation that feels like you are away, out of town, just by being on the water~ Will be looking to book the next getaway!
Frances H. Paradise Valley, AZ Slipaway September 2021
Another fantastic stay at Boat BNB--love Slipaway --it is a gorgeous, comfortable vessel! Shaun thought of everything to make my stay enjoyable--love the fresh orange juice and fresh fruit basket) and I got the best night sleep on Slipaway!I will be back!

Charles M. Lancaster, CA Dauntless July 2021
This was such a fun, new experience for our family! We took our three kids ages 11, 9 and 7 for one week to the BoatBnB for the 4th of July and it did not disappoint! Shaun was a great host and had everything perfectly set up and stocked for when we arrived. There were also many places in walking distance not to mention the firework show was the best we have ever seen! It was fun to go out and visit Sea World as well as a couple other tourist attractions, but our favorite part was returning to Dauntless and watching the sun set over the water. We will be staying here again! I can’t imagine visiting San Diego and staying in a hotel after this wonderful experience!
Janet W. Carlsbad, CA Slipaway October 2020
Our stay on Slipaway was amazing. A step back into time, beautifully refurbished, comfortable beds, amazing service. We and our family had a beautiful sunset cruise with Captain Randy. Shaun was so nice and accommodating. We can't wait to come back and try one of the other boats in the fleet. Thank you so much
Amber B. Phoenix, AZ Sea The Reel Rhino September 2000
Our family has stayed on 2 different boats in the BNB fleet and just booked our 3rd! The accommodations have all been clean, stocked with the needed supplies, and just plain awesome! Nothing beats coffee or a cocktail on the deck of a boat with the calm sounds of the water. Our kids have enjoyed the ocean life we’ve seen from the boat, especially the sea lions and dolphins. Great location, near restaurants, waterfront walking path, and short drive to the best beaches in the San Diego area. Shaun is a fantastic host and extremely knowledgeable about boats and the area. She is available 24/7. Highly recommend!
Tiffany D. San Diego, CA Slipaway September 2020
We loved our weekend aboard Slipaway. My husband and I were celebrating my birthday as well as our anniversary and live in San Diego but wanted to feel like we got away from home. The ship was in excellent shape, clean, extra touches like fruit, coffee & creamer, lovely fluffy towels, and soft and indulgent bed linens. Shaun was wonderful! welcoming, patient, and responsive. I can't say enough good things about this holiday! Highly recommend.
Brad S. Olathe, KS Slipaway August 2019
Just stayed for the 3rd time on the Slipaway. Shaun always make sure it is perfectly setup and all our needs are taken care of. It is always so relaxing to end your evenings with a nice glass of wine on the topside of the boat and enjoy everything around you. Waking up to all the sounds of the water around you and the gentle rock of the water is wonderful too. My favorite memories are always sitting topside in the morning with a cup of coffee and talking to my loved one. This is a must-do for anyone staying in the area!
Jennifer W. Springboro, OH Slipaway April 2019
Exceeded expectations. Beautiful yet comfortable boat. Yacht club was very nice too. In retrospect two nights were not enough for our family of four. Our teenage girls loved their bunks, the dining table and hanging out on the boat enjoying the sights. Great area to explore around the marina also. Hoping to stay for a month or two when we become empty nesters. Great experience!

David A. Norman, OK First Class December 2018
Loved it. We were there for a week. Already miss it. Very quiet, very safe marina. Love Shelter Island. Amazing location. Shaun is an excellent host. We would stay there again. We hope to live aboard one day on a boat about this size so this was an outstanding preview.
Sharon E. Kailua Kona,HI Slipaway October 2018
My husband and I have just returned to Hawaii from a wonderfully peaceful 8- night stay aboard "Slipaway" in the Shelter Cove Marina. The boat itself is beautifully maintained and comfortable. Everything we needed for the stay was provided and Shaun and the rest of the staff at the Marina were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed making breakfast in the well appointed galley, and walking to nearby restaurants for lunch or other meals. Evenings were often spent relaxing topside with wine, beer, and "pupus".We hope to return someway to "Slipaway" but in the meantime, we hope others will decide to enjoy it in our absence. Steve S. Bullhead City, AZ Slipaway September 2018
What a rush! Bucket List and lifelong fantasy fulfilled in one night. Slipaway is the perfect sailing sloop/yacht pictured in faraway travel magazine ads. I only dreamed that one day that could be me. Now it has been. Everything was perfect as Shaun has made it so. We will be back to stay on another boat one day, I am sure. The experience was worth every dollar spent!
Jennifer J. Lakeside, CA Endless Summer September 2018
THE most amazing weekend at the Boat BnB's Endless Summer! Always welcoming, accommodating, clean and relaxing! We never wanted it to end! This is our 2nd excursion to the Boat BnB and it won't be our last! THANK YOU, Shaun
Mary C. San Diego, CA Sell Sell Sell August 2018
My husband wanted to do something different for his bday. I booked Sell Sell Sell with Shaun. She took care of everything and was GREAT to work with. I'm sitting here writing the review IN the boat, getting ready to leave, which we don't want to do. :-(Had an amazing time and we were able to go out around the bay. Everything from check in to facilities were A++++. The boat is gorgeous and perfect for us to enjoy a little home away from home. The facilities at the Marina are kept up to perfection. Had no problem taking a shower there. It's extremely clean and well kept. Thanks Shaun for everything!!! We look forward to coming back!
Jeff L. Ramona, CA Effen Dreamer June 2018
I think anyone that has spent even a little time on the water would agree that there’s not too many things better than just sitting on the back of a boat with a drink in your hand, a fishing line in the water, and some Jimmy Buffett music playing in the background. If you feel the same way, but you’re not fortunate enough to have your own yacht in the harbor, Boat Bnb has got you covered. Shaun had everything set up perfectly and made sure we had a nice, relaxing mini vacation. I can’t think of anything that would’ve made it better.
Robert W. Tucson, AZ Sell Sell Sell March 2018
Finally! Longer than we would have liked but we are excited to be returning to Boat B&B for another stay. We stayed on Czech Mate (now Sell,Sell,Sell) in Sept of 2015 and had an amazing weekend in San Diego. (2 adult couples). The boat was spacious with lots of top side deck space for hanging out and sipping a cold Moscow mule or glass of wine. The aft swim up platform was great for parking a few folding chairs and watching the fish at night with the under water light. We even had a brief visit from a local sea lion one evening. The marina is conveniently located on Shelter Island a few steps to the Bali Hai and Humphrey's Half Moon Bay. While the bathroom on board worked fine, boat bathrooms can be a bit tight so we opted to use the marina facilities. They were very clean and accommodating. It was overall a very unique and enjoyable experience and a great way to enjoy San Diego from another perspective. We can't wait to check in a few weeks from now for another great experience.

Having never done this before, we were not sure what to expect. Turned out to be a great experience - much better than a hotel and Shaun provided super service and availability. Our friends were from out of state and they thought this was so neat and unusual. We will do it again.
James R. Las Vegas, NV Seas the Day October 2017
I stayed on Seas The Day this past July (2017) for a very short four-day weekend with a couple of friends. Time always goes so fast when I visit my favorite city in the whole wide world (San Diego). Our trip was so jam-packed with activities but the most fun we had was just lounging around on Seas the Day, a 34 catamaran. We cooked a great dinner on the included grills by the front office and even had fun conversations with the group next to us who were also staying with BoatBnB. Shaun, who runs the whole thing herself, gave us the tour and though we didn't have much dealing with her the rest of the trip, she would always wave and smile in passing. All-in-all a great time and the hard part will be to decide whether to book Seas the Day again or try another one of the cool boats in the fleet.
Ben T. Cumming, GA First Class October 2017
First Class provided us a beautiful and unique place to stay for a long weekend in San Diego. This was the second stay on a Boat BNB property and it definitely will not be the last. The marina atmosphere is relaxing, and the amenities are First Class (no pun intended...or maybe a small one). Shaun and the rest of the staff were super helpful with the latest comings and goings in the SD area. And the actual boat was great! WiFi, air condition (when needed), and living space were as advertised. The galley was stocked with cooking items, glassware, coffee mugs, refrigerator, etc.. and made breakfast in the AM easy. The bunks were comfy and spacious for the boat size. Our favorite part of the day was having a few cocktails on the flying bridge watching the sunset before dinner! Love it!

My wife and I were in San Diego in July 2017 to attend a workshop. Originally I made reservations for a room at the hotel the workshop was held. But my wife got creative and searched the internet for alternative lodging. That's where she discovered that yacht owners rent out their vessels for short-term lodging in the local marinas. We decided to go for it and reserved "Sell, Sell, Sell", a 46-ft yacht docked at Shelter Cove Marina. It cost less than the hotel and provided a luxurious atmosphere for us to enjoy. It will comfortably sleep 4 although there were only two of us. There are 2 full bathrooms on the boat plus bath and shower facilities at the adjoining marina. The boat had a nice audio system, televisions and a kitchenette. My wife is sensitive to motion due to her inner-ear condition so it was a concern. But the motion caused by the winds and passing boats were minimal and proved to be a soothing sensation that added to our aquatic adventure. The staff of Shelter Island Marina were very accommodating. This wound up being one of our favorite vacations even though it was a business trip. Highly recommended.
Brian P. La Mesa, CA Mea Culpa September 2017
Great stay-cation destination. We've stayed at several boat B 'n' B's and this was one of our favorites. Great location for a super relaxed weekend. Thanks for the hospitality.

William H. Scottsdale, AZ Seas the Day September 2017
My girlfriend and I found ourselves with some much-needed free time and were excited about booking a last minute trip to San Diego. Unfortunately, almost all of the hotels and accommodations were either booked or super expensive. Lucky for us we came across BoatBnb and booked Sea’s the Day for a couple of days of fun, sun and relaxation. Neither of us had stayed on a boat before and we were both very excited. Everything about the experience exceeded out expectations. Booking and checking in was a breeze, in fact we were a little late getting in to San Diego and they stayed late and fully accommodated us. Shaun was a dream to deal with and was available for us at any time. The boat and Marina exceeded our expectations not only was it beautiful but the people there were very nice and friendly. As a note we are both clean freaks and the boat and Marina facilities were both immaculate, which we loved. Shaun also gave us some awesome recommendations for places to eat and things to do and see. The Island is beautiful and there are so many amazing things to see and explore around it. We have recommended it to all our friends and family and loved it so much we are planning to book several trips this year with BoatBnB.
Rae H. Ventura, CA Slipaway September 2017
What a terrific stay on "Slipaway". We couldn't have had a more relaxing and fun stay aboard the "Slipaway".We had our furry daughter "Windy" with us which made it such a complete family vacation. Shaun & her staff were so welcoming and informative regarding our stay & the Slipaway's appointments. There was an additional great surprise onboard, fresh juice ,yogurts and fresh fruit. in the frig. It was such a friendly and appreciated extra. The boat was beautiful and was in very good repair, very clean and fresh. The hand carved wooden doors to the bedrooms were amazing. We so look forward to staying again very soon. We may try one of the other great boats Shaun has in the B&B boat program but the "Slipaway " sets the bar very high. We highly recommend !!!

Whenever I’m in San Diego, BoatBnB has become my home. Great boats, all in Bristol condition, the perfect waterfront setting a short walk to fine restaurants and great entertainment make BoatBnB the perfect weekend or vacation choice. Shaun is great and very attentive to detail. Why be a landlubber when one can stay on a beautiful yacht for less money?

Frank M. Carlsbad, CA Ode to Our Joy September 2016
If you are looking for a romantic getaway right here in San Diego look no further the the Boat Bed and Breakfast "Ode to our Joy" at Shelter Island. You are walking distance to everything you need and what a hidden beauty. A great 54 foot yacht, with a full queen size bed and beautiful living room that just makes the place very livable (no need to feel squeezed here, both my wife and I are over 6 feet and didn't feel cramped). Light breakfast items were provided along with fruit and Ice. EVERYTHING works, and what they don't say strongly enough is that the boat is super clean, no mildew smells of any kind. We paddle boarded, we swam, we watched the sunset, we read books (have all kinds of seating and perfect light to read by). They even have cable on board, so if there is something you want to watch you have two tv's. There are plenty of 110v outlets so if you have to "plug in" you will be 100% covered including WiFi service. You can use the facilities on board, or if you want to you can go to the club house and use the shower / facilities there. Great experience, and although we were only there for three days it felt like home (the people are really nice). Can't wait to do this again. (P.S. They also provide a 20% off at local restaurants. I know what you are thinking, they are never the places that you want to go. Not so here, we used it at 4 different restaurants and all of these were excellent.)
Cheryl Z. Pukalani, HI Czech Mate September 2016
We had the best time with our family in years, the captain knew everything about the area and was knowledgeable about ships. Fantastic!

Corrine S. Tierra Verde, FL Ode to Our Joy August 2016
We stayed with older grandkids, SO, great grand....6 of us total of 4 generations! Everyone had their own space. Three levels of living space let everyone connect together yet disperse for some privacy. San Diego on the coast in July was breezy, dry and pleasant. Could see the SeaWorld fireworks from the bridge. Comfortable beds and CLEAN surroundings. No odors. Clean refrigerator, etc. Nice breakfast of yogurts and fresh fruit and OJ and coffee. Centrally located to visit all the local sites and nearby restaurants. AND free parking! Shaun, office folks, and the dock hands were VERY helpful and courteous. I would stay here again! Excellent venue! Everyone loved lounging together for breakfast and late nights on the bridge. A fine time and opportunity to reconnect like we all lived together!
Karl G. Murrieta, CA Agavero August 2016
I rented the Agavero as a surprise anniversary getaway for my wife. She was thrilled to be surprised staying on a boat. Shaun was very helpful and gracious in making the reservation and walking us through how things onboard worked. Our stay was better than I could have hoped for. The boat cabin is cozy but enough room for two. The highlight was sitting on the rear deck of the boat watching other boats, sunrise, sunset and just enjoying the new experience of "owning a boat" for a few days. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, Bali Hai is a favorite. Bottom line is we enjoyed our stay and my wife has stories to tell about her surprise.
Scott R. Albuquerque, NM Slipaway April 2016
This is my family's second time staying aboard one of boatbnb's yachts. Once again it was a fabulous time. Shaun and her team do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The boats are in immaculate condition. The Shelter Island Marina is centrally located and makes many parts of San Diego reachable within a short drive.
Marlene S. Canyon Lake, CA Slipaway April 2016
We came upon Shaun and her BoatBNB in the pouring rain and just knew it was US! Our end of summer stay on the Slipaway was a perfect getaway. The vintage sailboat was such a unique experience, that we never left the marina except on your bikes and kayaks. We enjoyed the amenities, including bar b queuing dinners at your dock and then walking across the parking lot for a concert at Humphreys. Our dog was perfectly safe holding down the hatch, sniffing the salty air. It was relaxing just hanging out on the boat, away from everyday life. Shaun and her crew were so personable and ready to accommodate our every need. We didn't realize we would have to use the dock showers , but it was not an issue whatsoever. We look forward to our next visit on the " Ode to our Joy" with our friends. Marlene, Wayne, & Kamika dog Canyon Lake, Ca. Sept., 2015
Avery R. New York, NY Slipaway April 2016
Slipaway is a charming, elegant, romantic vessel that easily feels like home. Comfy beds and sleeping arrangements, beautiful vintage teak detail. The marina is lovely with great security and good amenities: gym, rec room, laundry and showers. The Bali Hai restaurant on site is also a treat. We can't wait to return!
Mike C. Canyon Lake, CA Ebenum Princessa. April 2016
This was a Wonderful vacation unlike a hotel room anytime you are on board you have an amazing view of the beautiful scenery Together with a wonderful Ocean Breeze. The boat Ebenum Princessa was absolutely beautiful. A truly wonderful experience. We cannot wait to visit again!

SLIPAWAY! A boat from a fairy-tale. We've had a fantastic experience for 12 days on Slipaway. It is gorgeous and friendly. The master bedroom is fabulous. It's super spacious and comfortable. The host was fabulous. We are truly grateful for the experience. SPECTACULAR BOAT! Pure comfort and luxury.
Theresa S. Lake Havasu City, AZ Silver Cloud August 2015
Our stay was awesome! After being lulled to sleep with the soft rocking of the ocean waves, we woke up to have coffee on deck. We were fascinated by the pelicans diving into the salt water for their breakfast. The location on Shelter Island is great for anything you will do in the San Diego, Mission Bay area. We had authentic Italian food one night & the next night we went to the local fish market & prepared our dinner on board. The Silver Cloud is stocked with everything you need to do so. The cabin & bedding was wonderful & we kept the hatch open so we could enjoy the fresh salt air all night. Had a very romantic experience doing something unique & fun. Book today & make arrangements to surprise your honey. Great way to recharge after 23 years of marriage. Thank you for your Hospitality!
Geoffrey P. Phoenix, AZ Slipaway June 2015
What an incredible experience it was staying on the Slipaway! My wife and I hoping to retire on some type of boat both said this is a must try! It gave us a small taste of hopefully what our future holds in store. Both relaxing and yet so much to do nearby. Kayaking around the harbor was really cool with sea lions poking their heads up just a few feet away! We just called the front office and requested a kayak and minutes later a kayak arrived at our dock! Although this may not be for everyone we loved it so much we are going again! We wanted our two children to have this experience as well so we are staying on Shaun's latest addition to her fleet Narnie O'shea. That might be the only negative staying on the Slipaway is that although perfect for two and possibly small children we felt the quarters might be a tad tight with us and two grown children. Thanks Shaun for giving us the opportunity to experience this adventure. We are genuinely grateful! One last mention, do not miss out on the Coconut Shrimp just steps away at Bali Hai restaurant!
Jean L. San Jacinto, CA Agavero June 2015
My husband and I stayed on the Agavero with my brother-in-law and his fiancée on Memorial Day weekend. They came all the way over from Sweden and we had a wonderful time on the Agavero. Although it was compact for two couples (one couple stayed in the master bedroom with the other couple staying in the dining room shifted into a bed), it is very roomy and nice to share time together out on the deck. I have to say the service and cleanliness of the boat and the overall deck services, laundry facility, restrooms/showers is superb. It was so peaceful and nice to be rocked to sleep and we enjoyed the sounds and smells of the water including the barks of the harbor seals right up to the boat! It was a 10! Thank you Shaun!
Harold C. Glendale, CA Slipaway May 2015
My wife, myself and a good friend spent 4 nights on Slipaway. We were in San Diego with 11 other, mostly retired, adults for our every other year UC Santa Barbara roommate reunion. This year they chose San Diego. I wanted to stay some place other than the standard Marriott or Hilton. I chose Slipaway because it looked fun and different. I chose Slipaway because it is old enough to have the beautiful wood interior rather than the white fiberglass that we are use to. The experience was great. The on-shore facilities were excellent. We used the nice supplied patio facility with its fire feature and bar overlooking the marina. We served wine and cheese to the whole group before our dinner at the restaurant next door. The on-shore restroom facilities with showers were very nice as well. The older toilets on Slipaway were a problem for our female friend. However, the experience was positive enough that she would do it again but on another boat. My wife and I really enjoyed "this" boat.
Denna S. Rancho Mirage, CA Elegante March 2015
We loved our stay on Elegante. It was every bit as beautiful and luxurious as we had hoped, and we plan to make a return trip. The views are spectacular and the staff made sure that we had everything we needed.
Debbie L. San Diego, CA Slipaway February 2015
We stayed on the Slipaway for my husband's birthday and brought our two kids. It was such a cozy, enjoyable, serene stay-cation! Beautiful sunsets, quiet atmosphere and perfect size accommodations for our family. We just rented it for my dad's 60th for he and my mom. It's a real treat!
Peyton U. Dallas, TX Ode to Our Joy August 2014
We absolutely LOVED our stay on Ode to Our Joy. Shaun was very welcoming and showed us around to get us acquainted with marina life. Our long weekend stay was perfect and we hardly wanted to leave the boat! We'll definitely be back again.
Tom P. Keller, TX Ode to Our Joy August, 2014
Great experience! The service was wonderful- thank you Shaun. I truly enjoyed the time I spent on Ode to Our Joy. Plenty of room and comfortable stay. The experience was much better than the standard hotel room and a great change to my normal business travel schedule. I plan to return soon. Highly recommended.
Lenore G. Carlsbad, CA Slipaway August 2014
We loved our stay on this wood boat. Our guests really enjoyed visiting us and there was plenty of room for everyone. We just relaxed and watch the world go by, sailboats, seals, naval vessels. Shaun is a great manager.
Dan R. Lusby, MD Silver Cloud July 2014
We had a great time on the Silver Cloud. The boat was perfectly set up for a couple. It was very clean and comfortable. The galley and head were nicely equipped and everything was easy to use. The marina is very nice and close to lots of fun things to do. Shaun and her staff were very friendly and helpful. The quickly showed us everything we needed to know about the boat and about the facilities. Shaun also gave us a lot of excellent information about marina life in San Diego. The other boats she manages were also very nice. We will absolutely be back.
Bryan H. Murrieta, CA Ode to Our Joy July 2014
I have stayed on Ode to Our Joy twice. Once for 8 days, the second time was 3 Days. I am looking forward to my next time. You couldn't ask for a better location, great amenities, awesome staff, great boat. It all adds up to a my kind of vacation.
Nicole P. Placentia, CA Slipaway July 2014
This was our third stay here; twice on the Slipaway. She is definitely my favorite little yacht due to her charm and personality. This older wooden ship seems to have so many stories to tell. This is a very relaxing Marina; not nearly as busy and noisy as other marinas we have visited. Shaun and her colleagues are so friendly and accommodating. They make sure that your stay is enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The ship itself it comfy and perfect for two people. The galley has plenty of space to store your snacks and beverages. The marina staff make sure you have plenty of ice, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee and orange juice. Everyone there is friendly. It truly is a relaxing place to visit with nearby amenities within walking, biking or driving distance. The bathrooms are kept clean and the showers are nice. They have an on site gym, laundry facility (bring soap and quarters) and soda machine. You can rent kayaks or just lay on your boat and be rocked to sleep. Can't wait to go back!!
Henry T. Lancaster, CA Silver Cloud May 2014
Where to start.... We were met at the front office by Jesse and his coworker with big smiles and warm welcomes. They actually took our luggage, bikes, kayaks, and the infamous Surfjet off the truck and brought it to the Silver Cloud. It was very low tide, so going down the ramp was a bit of a chore. All weekend long Jesse continued to ask us if our visit was good and if we needed anything. It could not have been a better weekend. Boat was great, very clean, everything worked except for the liquor dispenser.... Yes Jesse I looked at it, and tried to get it working ;) No luck, its missing parts. Neighbors around the marina are very helpful and polite. Charlies Houseboat is one to see, ask for a tour! My only recommendation is to put a key for the BBQ on the set of keys for the boat. We had to circumvent the lock system one night.... sorry Jesse... ;)
Roger I. Corona, CA Silver Cloud April 2014
The boat, the environment, Shaun and her staff, everything about our stay was fantastic. I have told everyone that we know about our stay and I would recommend the Silver Cloud to anyone looking for a different type of getaway.
Terri C. Los Angeles, CA Silver Cloud February 2014
I always want a water view when I get a chance to take some time off, and I ask you, what could be more perfect than staying on a boat, where the ocean becomes your front yard? I stayed on Silver Cloud for a few days, and absolutely loved it. Yes, it's on the water, so you will feel movement, and yes, if you have claustrophobia, the size and ceiling height of this particular craft might bother you -- but it didn't bother me at all! This was the best use of small space I have ever encountered, and it's probably larger than some NYC apartments! Great little kitchen with stove/microwave, a fridge and freezer, 2 flat screen TVs, closet space, a couch and a lovely banquette that can turn into another sleeping area (though I didn't use it that way). You can lounge topside, and just a few steps away, up the ramp, enough green space for you and your dog o walk alongside the bay.. Appreciated the thoughtful touches left by management: basic spices, coffee/tea/creamer, fresh fruit, oatmeal and OJ. Nice neighbors, very quiet, beautiful sunsets. Two things you should know: nothing goes in the head but what comes out of you, so you do have to adjust to that, and fighter jets from nearby naval base are so loud they set off car alarms, but you get used to it after awhile, and when you're inside the boat, with hatch closed, they are a lot less noticeable. Special kudos to the housekeeper. The boat was spotless. And many thanks to manager Shaun for immediately answering operational questions, and making little glitches go away. I'm going back again!
Michelle A. San Diego, CA General Bayacht August 2023
Wonderful stay! Friendly host. Awesome location!
Kimberly B. Joshua Tree, CA Dauntless, Slipaway, Why Knot, Ohana, General Bayacht, No Hurry July 2022

Bib B. Pauma Valley, CA Effen Dreamer December 2018
Very relaxing elegance. Slept like a baby.
Jim A. Rancho Santa Fe, CA Sell Sell Sell November 2017

Sept., 2015

I have stayed on Ode to Our Joy twice. Once for 8 days, the second time was 3 Days. I am looking forward to my next time. You couldn't ask for a better location, great amenities, awesome staff, great boat. It all adds up to a my kind of vacation.

We had to circumvent the lock system one night.... sorry Jesse... ;)

The boat, the environment, Shaun and her staff, everything about our stay was fantastic. I have told everyone that we know about our stay and I would recommend the Silver Cloud to anyone looking for a different type of getaway.
